These color illustrations of a partial-birth abortion were prepared on the basis of an instructional paper by an Ohio abortionist, explaining step by step how he performs the procedure. These drawings accurately depict a partial-birth abortion being performed on a baby at 24 weeks gestational age. Most partial-birth abortions are performed in the 20-26 week range (the fifth and sixth months), and some are performed even later. Artwork by Tanja Butler. Letters from medical authorities affirming the accuracy of these drawings are posted below.

Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps.
The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.

People can be ignorant
I agree with the one person who actually opens up all the possibilities for pro-abortion. It is a woman`s choice and there are certain circumstances where abortion is the only answer. Yes, i do believe this method of abortion is horrible, but is not the only form. This is just the most gruesome. Most of you are probably men and cannot understand how a woman feels to have to go through a pregnancy. Women get raped, sometimes birth control fails, and sometimes we just cant take care of a child. So get over it, it happens and its going to continue to happen illegal or not. Drugs are illegal, yet a large sum of the society has tried them.

I never really understood how abortions worked until now, and it seems even more wrong than it did before. I guess I have never been in the position to have to make a decision such as this, but I`m almost positive if it came down to it, i would never get an abortion....its just so un-natural and wrong. Thats a life inside you. I would say its murder to get an abortion really. If people are ready to have sex, they need to know there are outcomes your not always ready for. Just use your brain people.

I live in a state where people make money having kids, and that is their ONLY REAL reason for having any kids at all. How is it that you are able to feel so righteous berating those of us who believe that abortion is murder, while it may be true on your life being saved instead of taking the chance of having the baby, that choice would be one that no one would ever want to have to face, just like wether pulling the plug on someone on life support, and any sane person would have the sense of the enormous decision that one would be put in position to make, isn`t necessarily what anyone here is actually talking about. I believe the real problem is when people use abortion as a means of birth control. That I believe is where the biggest problem comes in. I also know several people who were told to have an abortion or they`d die, and/or they and the baby would die, well all lived regardless of what the doctors had told them, that does not negate your fear of your daughter losing you, her mom, who she does need, nor does that mean you are an awful person, as people make decisions based upon the facts they are presented with and no one likes being put in that position, and unless anyone is in that kind of situation, you really don`t know how you would weigh in all the facts and circumstances surrounding that type of situation, TALK IS CHEAP! There is a difference in the bible between killing and murder, they are different! Any and all sane reasonable persons would recognize the difference, and in your situation/circumstances not be held accountable in the same way as those who use it as a form of birth control. Just to make it a little more clear on why those who condemn it, may not necessarily be condeming you, in a case such as yours, if you followed the advice of the doctors, from what they told you and your whole situation, you made your decision based on fear and their advice, no different than life support being pulled on someone, there are no guarantees in life, maybe you would have died, maybe the baby, maybe both, only God knows for sure, and no one envys anyone with those types of decisions that need to be made.

thats way to narly. getting abortions is just another way of shirking your responsibility for your actions accident or not. I do believe that you can repent for any sin no matter how disturbing or messed up it is but for something like this you need to truly believe that what you have done is wrong and try and pray as hard as you can and then some. thats my two cents.

think about it this way...
It may make you sad, angry or even disturb you..but things like this do happen and most times its not a "just because" reason. Most times these abortions are carried out to save the mothers life or because the fetus will not live past birth, or will be seriously handicapped and will be in massive pain for the rest of its life (because of a doctor going against her christian hospital rules I am alive today..If I hadnt had the operation to remove the fetus I would be dead right now .. at the time I had a 7yr old daughter at home). In the event the abortions are performed per the parents choice its because financially they can not support it (yes you all say well the keep your legs closed..however ever heard of a married couple thinking they were protected but werent. it does happen hopefully it will never happen to you) you may say then that they should put the baby for adoption..do you realize that every year millions of babies are placed up for adoption but only a few hundred are lucky enough to be adopted..and out of those few hundred there are appox 3/4 of them that get molested, abused and are used for the federal money the guardians recieve for takin care of them. So that baby that you "saved" may just end up someones sick demented perverted punching bag or sex toy..which would be better for you?? of course I doubt you would adopt every life you save, but you do realize that your tax dollars go to support these babies after they are born because you guilt tripped some woman into believing she was a horrible person if she didnt keep it..so then you can now complain about all these women having unwanted babies and living on welfare instead. You cant have it both ways...either stop berating women for choosing what they believe is the best for THIER child and themselves or stop complaining about them collecting benifits to support your demands on them to keep it. In the long run, we have no right to judge anyone. think about it...Do you like to be judged..what if someone thought that people who believed in the paranormal were all crazy and should be locked up and the key thrown away because we are obvious dangers to the society...you wouldnt feel to good would ya? well isnt that what we believe these poor woman should have done to them..they are killers right?? we should lock them up and toss the key, hey wait in some states the death penelty exists..why not just fry them instead..they killed an innocent baby right?? they could already have children, but they are murderers and should be treated accordingly right???????? we believe in ghosts, aliens, ect..we are NUT CASES (and yes I have actually spent 6 weeks in a mental hospital because someone over heard my discussing my believe and ability to speak and feel the spirits around us..they told me I was crazy that I needed help and even forced me to take mind altering drugs so that I would be "normal")!!! nut cases get locked up too right??? the world can be inturprited different ways...I say cast no stone unless you expect and are ready to have one lobbed right back at ya head twice as hard with better aim.

Partial birth abortion
I never could understand, even at a young age, how anyone could say abortion is not murder. Anything that is living, growing, etc. IS alive, yet it`s legalized murder, seriously what difference would it be if one was to murder pre birth, or to murder anytime post birth has taken place?! Murder is still murder!
